5 Things to Consider When Buying Face Masks

If you have ever worn a face mask, then you know how amazing they can be. Face masks can help ward off germs and keep you feeling fresh and clean. But not all face masks are of the same quality as a P2 face mask in Australia. When buying a face mask, there are many different factors to consider. And the most important is the type of mask you want to use. So to help you decide, pay special attention to the build quality, including:

2. Ensure Proper Hygiene

Washing your hands before and after putting on a face mask is essential for the health of your skin. And if you cannot wash your hands, try using alcohol hand gel or a hand sanitiser. Use only one mask at a time and store others in a clean airtight container. And reusable masks bought in bulk are a viable option. Besides, store masks in a dry, cool place, and keep them out of direct sunlight.

3. Fit Is Important

First of all, ensure your mask fits properly. A mask that’s too tight or loose can cause skin irritation and discomfort. As such, check the fit by putting on the mask and looking in a mirror to see if it’s high enough to cover both sides of your nose without being too tall overall. You also want the opening at the bottom of your nostrils covered by a snug-fitting seal but not so tight that you have trouble breathing or feeling claustrophobic in it.

Don’t rub your eyes.
Don’t touch your nose (or ears), and this is especially important if you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, as these areas of the body are more likely than others to be affected by contaminants in the air or on mask surfaces.
Don’t stick your tongue out while wearing a mask since doing so could lead to swallowing some of what’s on it, making you sick later.
5. Face Masks Are Made to Protect the Wearer

You should remember that face masks are not designed to protect other people. You can wear a mask and take care of yourself, but you should not expect your mask to keep others from getting sick from you.

As mentioned earlier, face masks don’t block all viruses (and they don’t block all germs). The flu virus is airborne and can pass through the holes in a face mask. And if someone with the flu sneezes on you while wearing one, you’ll almost certainly get sick too. So, if someone around you is ill or carrying an airborne illness (like the flu), it’s best not to be around them until they recover or wash your hands frequently.

You may have heard that face masks are a good way to protect yourself from airborne viruses and germs. And if you want to keep yourself healthy during cold and flu season or in general, your best bet is still washing your hands frequently and maintaining your healthy distance from people, in addition to wearing a mask!
